The kinds of freedom supportive of prosperity and solidarity in community is a persistent issue in public discourse. In this part of the “Economics and the Pursuit of Happiness” course students will consider questions such as, what is the nature and meaning of human freedom? How “free” are we really? In society, is absolute freedom possible? And, can government be “paternal?”
